I have a lead pipe here. It has a lead lock fitting, that seems to have been incorrectly installed (gripping ring present, o-ring present, but no washer between, so the o-ring has deformed into the spilt in the griping ring)
Anyway, it looks like ill have to buy a complete fitting, but how do i size it?
OD of the lead pipe is 27.3mm (aprox). Not sure of ID, as i have to turn both our house, and our neighbours off to get off the make-shift (leaking) temp repair.
But i can do that, just not right now.
Id be happy to do without the pipe all together. Its just a stub that comes across from next door and would have served an old outside toilet here. On their side, the pipe just dissapears into a wall (after serving their outside toilet) and its all too tight to alter anything.
I understand sweated joints are prohibited now, but, in truth, i would not be too concerned about sweating on a cap on the end of a run - is that a (technical, rather than legislative) option? Just get a 28mm end feed cap, and sweat that on?
