A High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Flange Adapter is fused to the designated pipe then joined to a compatible flange adapter or a mating flange. Adapters are acceptable to be butt fused with HDPE pipe or other fittings produced from a compatible resin. A backing ring is positioned behind the flange adapter’s settling surface flange and bolted to the mating flange.

A High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Adapter is used For joining IPS or DI size polyethylene pipe to any ANSI/ AWWA C153 ductile iron compact fitting and valve. It is Molded from a NSF listed high density resin and Fully complies with AWWA C901, 906. Polyethylene MJ Adaptors require longer T-head bolts for ease of assembly.
Plain end High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe is connected through the electrofusion process. An electrofusion coupling consists of an electrical heating coil, which when electrically triggered during the electrofusion welding process, the surface melts inducing the pipe and the fitting together, creating the fusion of the pipe and electrofusion fitting.
When High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe has to be joined in some way to either pipe of another material, valves, or pumps, then Backing rings may be used. The backing ring provides support for the transition, as well as ease of disassembling for maintenance purposes.
China PE Pipe Flange AdaptorHigh-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and fittings are connected to each other in the same ways through either heat fusion. The most commonly used process to connect HDPE is by heat fusion of pipe butt ends.

What is HDPE? High-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) is a pipe material able to carry potable water, wastewater, chemicals, hazardous wastes, and compressed gases.
What makes HDPE so great? It is resistant to corrosion, abrasion and chemicals, creating significant durability advantages. It is essentially leak free when using the pipe fusion method to join the pipe, making connections as strong as the pipe itself. It is lightweight and flexible, creating ease of installation and saving time on the job. These factors, accompanied by manufacturing capabilities to produce sizes from 1/2" to 63” pipe, create an advantage that other types of pipe can’t offer
