Flexible flush pipe

    Hi,

SWMBO has decided that she doesn't want tiles on the toilet floor anymore; she wants lino.
This is after I've gone and fixed the Gerberit cistern in place and walled it all in under the assumption the floor was going to be raised up to an inch. So the problem now is the pan will sit c. half an inch lower with the lino than was planned (even with some ply under the lino). The soil pipe is okay because I used a flexible one in the first place. The problem though is the flush pipe. It's only about 5 inches long and is exiting the wall c. half an inch too high to join with the pan.

    Any suggestions please?

Local plumb centre is saying knock the wall down and drop the cistern - I'm not keen on that!

    Please... HELP!

You can use flexible flush pipe dont look good but handy for concealed cisterns.

Plastic flush pipe? Use a blowtorch very, very carefully - all the way around the exposed section of pipe, slowly - very slowly - heating it up to 'plastic stage (but avoiding the very end wot fits into 'pan) and then tweak it down the required 'alf inch?

Try and find something that'll go inside to keep it 'shapely' - perhaps a piece of rigid pipe lagging.

If you have boxed the cistern in so that it is not accessible than that is a big mistake. It will need repairs from time to time and must be fully accessible - change your set up - then you can simply alter the flush pipe to suit.

how about cut some plywood the same shape as the pan base and raise the toilet.

Well I did consider heating the pipe to kink it up but the problem is this is 45mm plastic pipe and I only have this short section: I didn't want to risk ruining the pipe unless I had some more to replace it and try again. Is 45mm plastic pipe generally available?

The other problem is the 45mm pipe - any adjustable or flexible flush pipes I've seen are for 40mm pipe.

Well the gerberit system is supposed to be 100% serviceable via the flush plate hole. It's very impressive - via the flush plate hole you can reach in and remove all of the key parts. Everything is held by cunning plastic clips for easy removal. However I know I run the risk of one day having to take the front of the wall off due to something or other having to be repaired however I didn't expect it to be quite this quickly

SWMBO doesn't want to see a plinth of ply under the pan. I did consider a plinth cut from white plastic or similar but you start to think it's more work and more expense than taking the plasterboard off the wall.

At the moment taking a section of plasterboard off the wall sounds the 'best' option - I don't want to do this but it's starting to look like the best route
