Flanges
Pipe Flanges are an integral part of piping used to join two consecutive pipes or rather block to end the pipeline. A pipe flange is either a ring type, collar or a circular blank disc either welded or screwed to the pipe. Flanges are used in pairs connected by bolted joint and provides strength to the pipeline. A flanged joint is second most used method of joining after welding and is versatile in terms of maintenance.

Types of Flanges
- Weld Neck Flange Pipe flange with a high hub often called as a neck that is used to weld the pipe. This pattern transfers the stress on to the pipe thus handling high pressure service.
- Slip On Flange Ring type pipe flange which slips over the pipe and welded. The inside diameter of the pipe is slightly large than the pipe's outer diameter.
- Socket Weld Flange Ring type pipe flange with recessed groove which acts as a socket and holds the plain end of the pipe. Typically used for smaller diameter and high pressure lines.
- Threaded Flange Pipe flange similar to slip on flange but with female tapered threads at the bore to suit incoming pipe threads. Threaded flange is used for small diameter high pressure lines
- Lap Joint Flange Lap joint flange are exactly similar to slip on flange but with radius cut over the bore to occupy and facilitate free revolution of the stub end fitting
