Potable Water

Municipal piping systems need to comply with strict NSF, AWWA and ASTM standards to transport potable water to homes across their communities safely. Our HDPE piping is safe, leak-free, requires little-to-no maintenance for decades of reliable performance, and is resistant to disinfectants. WL Plastics HDPE pipes are designed to optimize system flow rates in potable water transmission and distribution systems. Learn more about how WL Plastics HDPE pipes are the ideal piping solution for potable water systems here.

Oil & Gas Gathering

WL Plastics HDPE pipe is the ideal piping solution for oil & gas gathering applications due to its resistance to a wide variety of chemicals in gathering operations. HDPE pipe can handle a wide variety of fluids and gases common to oil and gas applications including the transport of crude oil, multi-phase fluids, process water, water slurries and brine (saltwater) solutions to and from fracking sites. WL Plastics HDPE Pipe complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s standard API 15-LE. Learn more about WL Plastics oil & gas gathering products here.

Wastewater

WL Plastics HDPE pipe’s resistance to chemicals, Hydrogen Sulfide gas (H2S), corrosion, and abrasion damage makes our pipe ideal for wastewater systems. In wastewater applications it is important to use a nonreactive piping material, such as HDPE pipe, to prevent pipe degradation due to presence of H2S gas. Learn more about why WL Plastics HDPE pipe is the ideal solution for wastewater applications here.

Power and Communications

WL Plastics HDPE pipe is the ideal solution for protecting fiber optic cables for telecommunication systems and wiring for power systems from external damage and environmental conditions. WL Plastics HDPE pipe creates a protective pathway that can withstand moisture, abrasion damage, and third party damage so the wiring and fiber optic cables stay safe and operable. Learn more about WL Plastics Power & Communications pipe products here.

Mining & Industrial

WL Plastics HDPE piping systems feature superior abrasion resistance, leak-free joints, resistance to chemical damage, and low installation and maintenance costs making it the ideal piping material for mining and industrial applications. Industrial-grade piping must be durable, strong and capable to withstand a wide variety of severe external and internal conditions without intensive maintenance requirements. Using HDPE pipe Mining & Industrial sites can quickly expand their existing systems or set up systems in new locations. Learn more about WL Plastics Mining & Industrial products here.

Natural Gas Distribution

WL Plastics PE4710 HDPE pipe with a yellow stripe is the ideal solution for natural gas distribution piping systems. HDPE pipe safely handles pressurized natural gas and won’t leak due to its heat fusion joining. WL Plastics HDPE pipe meets and exceeds all of the testing requirements per Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 49 Part 192 and ASTM D2513. HDPE Pipe Characteristics

HDPE pipe offers several unique benefits that other types of pipe can’t duplicate. Thanks to its unique chemical structure and properties, HDPE pipe creates a leak-free system that is resistant to degradation over time and doesn’t react negatively to typical environmental factors. Some of the most beneficial characteristics of HDPE pipe include:

Durability

HDPE pipe is built to last. Even in adverse environmental conditions—including aboveground, underground and marine applications—HDPE pipe maintains its characteristic resistance to chemical and abrasion damage. Customers use HDPE pipe to transport a wide range of medium in their systems including potable water, wastewater, acidic solutions, natural gas, saltwater slurry and others. Neither the transported fluids inside the pipe nor the environmental conditions outside the pipe pose a risk to the integrity of the HDPE pipe.

WL Plastics HDPE pipe is durable enough to withstand high-pressure applications and extreme temperature fluctuations. HDPE pipe is the ideal solution for earthquake resistance, seismic activities, vibration, and soil movement in buried applications.

Cost-Effectiveness

WL Plastics HDPE pipe reduces our customer’s spending on transportation due to its longer standard cut length, lightweight properties and WL Plastic manufacturing locations’ proximity to worksites nationwide. HDPE pipe also utilizes heat fusion joining that requires no additional couplers, gaskets or fittings to join pipe together. Due to HDPE pipe’s durability and simplicity, system managers don’t have to worry about the costs of frequent repairs or section replacements. WL Plastics HDPE pipe is a cost-effective material for large-scale networks of piping systems.

Joining Capabilities

The primary joining technique used with HDPE pipe is heat fusion. This leak-free joining technique creates a monolithic pipe system where the joints are as strong as the pipe itself providing a piping system that is built to last. Not only does this improve the overall system performance, but it also increases the safety to the surrounding environment by reducing the risk of leaked medium. When performed correctly, heat fusion joints won’t leak and will drastically reduce operational costs for your piping system over its lifetime.

WL Plastics HDPE pipe can alternatively be joined together via mechanical connections such as flanges, mechanical joints, couplers, and others.

Corrosion Resistance

WL Plastics HDPE pipe will not corrode, tuberculate, or support biological growth. HDPE pipe has a C-Factor of 150 for the design life of the pipe, unlike metallic pipes which will suffer inside diameter constriction overtime. The inside diameter of HDPE pipe will not change over time providing consistent flows with no increase to pumping energy.
